Scripture

2 Nephi 25:13

Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name.

Hymn

I Know That My Redeemer Lives | Hymn #136

1. I know that my Redeemer lives.
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead.
He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love.
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to bless in time of need.

2. He lives to grant me rich supply.
He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint.
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart.
He lives all blessings to impart.

3. He lives, my kind, wise heav’nly Friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.

4. He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
“I know that my Redeemer lives!”
He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
“I know that my Redeemer lives!”

Lesson

FOR CHILDREN

Scripture: Read Mosiah 3:7 and Alma 7:11

Ask: What did the Savior go through during the Atonement?

Read: Jesus suffered all of our pains, sicknesses, afflictions, temptations, and sins. His atonement makes it possible for all of us to become free from these afflictions.

Ask: How does it make you feel to know that Jesus has felt all of your pains and sicknesses?

Read: Jesus Christ’s resurrection allows us to live again and reunite with loved ones who have passed away.

Share: Tell the children how the Atonement of Jesus Christ blesses your life.

Ask: How can you show your gratitude to Christ for all that He has done for you?

Testimony: Close the lesson with your testimony of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

FOR TEENS & ADULTS

Begin this lesson by watching this short video

Ask: What can you do because of Jesus Christ?

Share: Share an experience when you learned to rely on the Savior to accomplish something.

Scripture: Read Alma 5:6–14; 13:11–12; 19:1–16; 22:1–26; 36:16–21; Ether 12:27; Moroni 10:32–33 as a group or individually.

Ask: How did Christ help the people in each of these scriptures? How can He help you?

Testimony: Close with your testimony of the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
