Book of Mormon Come Follow Me FHE Lesson – We Have Entered into a Covenant with Him

- Advertisment - Save on Great LDS Gifts

Alma teaches the words of Abinadi and baptizes many at the waters of Mormon. In this FHE lesson, we explore the significance of honoring our covenants and supporting one another on the covenant path. Our FHE lessons include three lesson plans for different ages, treat recipes, activity ideas, and more.

Mosiah 18:10

Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?

Love One Another | Hymn #308

As I have loved you,

Love one another.

This new commandment:

Love one another.

By this shall men know

Ye are my disciples,

If ye have love

One to another.

Scripture: Read Mosiah 18:7-17

Ask: What covenants do we make with God when we are baptized?

Read: When we are baptized, we make several important covenants with God. These covenants are a sign of our commitment to follow Jesus Christ and live His teachings. We can renew these covenants each week when we partake of the sacrament, which is a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Ask: How has keeping these covenants blessed your life?

Share: Tell the children how keeping your covenants blesses your life.

Video: Watch this short video on keeping baptismal covenants.

Testimony: Close the lesson with your testimony.

Begin this lesson by watching this short video

Read: When we are baptized we covenant to “mourn with those that mourn” “comfort those that stand in need of comfort” and “to stand as a witness of God at all times and in all places.”

Ask: How can you fulfill these covenants?

Share: share an example of when you were able to “mourn with those that mourn” “comfort those that stand in need of comfort” or“stand as a witness of God”

Scripture: Read Mosiah 18:14

Ask: How does keeping your covenants fill you with the spirit?

Testimony: Close with your testimony of the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Reflect on the significance of your covenants by thoughtfully considering Jean B. Bingham’s message entitled  “Covenants with God Strengthen, Protect, and Prepare Us for Eternal Glory.” Evaluate your actions and deliberate on how to more purposefully uphold your covenants.
