2 Nephi 9:52
Behold, my beloved brethren, remember the words of your God; pray unto him continually by day, and give thanks unto his holy name by night. Let your hearts rejoice.

Thy Spirit, Lord, Has Stirred Our Souls, Hymn #157
1. Thy Spirit, Lord, has stirred our souls,
And by its inward shining glow
We see anew our sacred goals
And feel thy nearness here below.
No burning bush near Sinai
Could show thy presence, Lord, more nigh.

2. “Did not our hearts within us burn?”
We know the Spirit’s fire is here.
It makes our souls for service yearn;
It makes the path of duty clear.
Lord, may it prompt us, day by day,
In all we do, in all we say.

Being by reading the following quote from Elder Robert D. Hales:

The greatest blessings of general conference come to us after the conference is over.

Ask: What does this quote mean to you? What blessings come after conference is over?

Read aloud: General conference is a sacred time where we are privileged to hear the words of the prophets and apostles. We receive a lot of blessings and feel an abundance of the spirit just by listening to conference.

Ask: What was one of your favorite moments from conference? Was there anything that touched your mind or heart? Share some of your own impressions from conference.

Read aloud: These are precious moments. We need to remember them. When we are blessed with counsel or inspiration from God, we need to do something about it. If we just forget what we’ve been taught and don’t apply it in our lives, we will miss out on the opportunity to grow and be changed. That is one of the true purposes of general conference, to receive the direction we need to become more like Jesus Christ.

Ask: What are some things we can do to apply the teachings we’ve heard? What are some things that hold us back from doing so and how can we overcome them?

Share any personal experiences you may have about a time you’ve applied the counsel of general conference in your life and it has blessed you. Have everyone pick one thing they want to work on from general conference and write it down. Finish the lesson by bearing your testimony.

FHE Game / Activity

Sidewalk Simon or Homemade Pine Cone Bird Feeders

Sidewalk Simon

You’ll need colorful chalk for this game! A beloved game from the 1980’s, Simon was just as much a hit entertainment game now as it was then, for both children and grown-ups alike. But this life-sized version of the memory game gets your kids outside and moving! Have your children pick out their favorite colors, draw up a Simon board on the ground, and then shout out colors, and your kids jump to them. A fun and educational game!

Homemade Pine Cone Bird Feeders

You’ll need pine cones, peanut butter, twine, and bird seed.

Cut the length of twine so it’ll tie around the pine cone and hang from a tree branch. Tie it around the top of the pine cone. Cover the pine cone in peanut butter. Roll it in bird seed and then go outside to hang them up.
