1. Jesus is our loving friend.
He is always near.
He will guide us when we pray;
Ev’ry child is dear.
2. Rev’rently and sweetly now,
We our voices raise.
Jesus is our loving friend,
And we sing his praise.
Lesson
*Special for Young Children*
Read aloud: You are so loved! Jesus Christ is always with you, guiding and loving you every day. He will be by your side to help you through tough times and to celebrate your victories!
Jesus lived on earth more than 2,000 years ago – a long, long time ago. He taught people about God, His Father, and how He wanted them to live. Jesus taught many people new lessons about right and wrong. Today, we are going to talk about some of the lessons that Jesus taught while He was on Earth. Jesus loves you and is always watching over you. He cares about the way you live your life and wants to help teach you how to be a good Christian. Being a good Christian will make you happier and it’s fun, because it helps you do the right things.
Below is a list of lessons Jesus taught and how they can be applied to your child. Read through them all or pick just a few that pertain to your child’s needs. Each one has a scripture as a reference. At the end of each example, ask for other ways your child can follow Christ’s example.
Jesus thinks that sharing is very important. One day a little boy shared his lunch with Jesus. Jesus had a big crowd of people with him. He took the small lunch of only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, and He used that to feed thousands of people. This was a miracle!
Well, you don’t have to perform a miracle to share with others. All good Christians share with others because Jesus taught us to. Share your toys with your friends and family; it is so much more fun to play with someone else than by yourself. Sharing is a way tos how you care and makes everyone feel special and included!
(Matthew 14:13-21)
Forgive Others
Jesus forgives everyone and teaches us to do the same. Many people tried to hurt Jesus, but He always forgave them.
When your little brother breaks your favorite toy, it may make you very sad or angry. Jesus as you to forgive him in your heart and if he says, “Sorry,” tell him that he is forgiven. Jesus asks us to forgive that person, even when it is hard to do. Jesus is happy when we forgive.
(Matthew 6:14)
Pray
Jesus always prayed to God the Father, to guide HIm when He had concerns or wanted to share His thoughts. It gave Jesus great comfort to know that God was always with Him.
You can talk to Jesus every day! This is called praying. Praying can be asking Jesus questions, telling Him about your day, explaining something that worries you, asking for help, or just saying how grateful you are to have Him in your life. Jesus is always there to hear your prayers!
Many people pray when they first wake up in the morning. Others pray before they go to bed. The important thing is that you talk to Jesus…He loves to hear from you!
(Luke 11:9)
Tell the Truth
Jesus never lied. He always told the truth, even when it was hard to do.
Always tell the truth, even if you’re worried it might get you in trouble. Jesus is proud of you when you tell the truth and will always be there to forgive you! Sometimes when you make mistakes, telling the truth can be difficult. When you do the right thing by telling the truth, Jesus smiles!

This is super simple but super fun. Just like normal pictionary one person in each group will be drawing a picture for the others to guess. The catch – it will be drawing in pudding! So make some pudding in advance for the activity. Split into two or more groups and have one person from each team go at a time. Put some pudding on the back of a cookie sheet for each person. Then they can pick ideas out of a hat or it can be done by theme (ex: Disney, sports, foods, etc). The individuals from each team up to draw will be drawing the same thing and the first team to guess gets the point. It might be wise to have some paper towels near by to wipe hands off!
