Paul was called to be a witness of Christ. He obeyed the Lord and boldly bore his testimony to many. In this Come Follow Me FHE lesson, you’ll learn the importance of following the warnings of the prophets and how you can, like Paul, testify of Christ. Scripture
But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee.

Lesson
FOR CHILDREN
Activity: Prepare for the lesson by placing several objects or pictures around the room that could represent some of the prophet’s teachings. For example, a picture of someone being baptized, a Book of Mormon, or a temple recommend. Invite the children to walk around the room and find each of the items. Stop and talk about each of the teachings represented by these items.
Ask: How can following the prophet’s teachings keep us safe?
Read: The prophet is God’s representative here on earth. He loves each of us and wants to help us make it back to our Heavenly Father. The prophet’s teachings are meant to keep us safe from the world.
Scripture: Read Acts 27:9-11
Ask: What was Pual warning the people on the ship about?
Read: Paul warned the people on the ship of the dangers ahead, but they chose not to listen to him. Because the people did not listen to Paul they ended up in a shipwreck. We need to listen to the prophets warning to help us stay safe from dangers we may not be able to see.
Share: Tell the children about an experience when you have been blessed because you followed the teaching and warning of the prophet.
Ask: What can you do to follow the prophet’s teachings?
Testimony: Close with your testimony of the prophet’s teachings.
FOR TEENS & ADULTS
Scripture: Start the lesson by reading Acts 26:16-19
Ask: What is the Lord asking Paul to do in these verses?
Read: The Lord wants Paul to share the gospel and to stand as a witness of Him. We can all be witnesses of Christ as Pual was. We do not need to go to a foreign land or bear testimony to influential leaders to be a witness of Christ. Instead, we can bear simple testimony to our friends and family.
Ask: How can you be a witness of Christ in your everyday life?
Read: In verse 19 Paul says “I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision” We too can be obedient when God asks us to do something.
Ask: When have you obeyed something the Lord asked you to do? Were you blessed by being obedient?
Share: Share your own experience of being obedient to the Lord’s commandments.
Scripture: Read Joseph Smith – History 1:24-25
Ask: What can we learn from these examples of both Paul and Joseph on how to boldly share our testimony?
Testimony: Close with your testimony.
