New Testament Come Follow Me FHE Lesson – “Glory, and Power, Be unto … the Lamb for Ever”

- Advertisment - Save on Great LDS Gifts

The book of Revelation is the last book of the New Testament. John uses heavy symbolism in Revelation to teach of Christ. In this Come, Follow Me FHE lesson, you will learn more about letting Christ into your life and being fully committed to the gospel. Our FHE lessons include three lesson plans for different ages, treat recipes, activity ideas, and more.

Revelation 5:13

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Jesus, Once of Humble Birth, | Hymns, no. 196.

1.Jesus, once of humble birth,
Now in glory comes to earth.
Once he suffered grief and pain;
Now he comes on earth to reign.
Now he comes on earth to reign.

2.Once a meek and lowly Lamb,
Now the Lord, the great I Am.
Once upon the cross he bowed;
Now his chariot is the cloud.
Now his chariot is the cloud.

3.Once he groaned in blood and tears;
Now in glory he appears.
Once rejected by his own,
Now their King he shall be known.
Now their King he shall be known.

4.Once forsaken, left alone,
Now exalted to a throne.
Once all things he meekly bore,
But he now will bear no more.
But he now will bear no more.

Activity: Show the children this picture of Jesus knocking at a door.

Ask: What would you do if Jesus was knocking at your door?

Scripture: Read Revelation 3:20

Read: In this verse Jesus knocks on a door and waits for someone to hear Him and let Him in. In our own lives Jesus does not actually knock on our door, but He is knocking on our spiritual door waiting for us to let Him into our lives. When we let Christ into our lives we will be blessed and find more joy and peace through His presence.

Share: Tell the children about a time when you let Christ into your life and what blessing you saw because of that decision.

Ask: How can you open the door to let Christ into your life?

Read: Christ will always be on the other side of the door waiting for us to let Him into our lives. We can choose to open our spiritual door to Christ by reading our scriptures, being kind to others, obeying our parents, being reverent at church, and saying our prayers.

Testimony: Close with your testimony.

Scripture: Read Revelation 1 and look for descriptions of who He is, what He does for us, and what He is like.

Ask: What did you learn about Jesus Christ from this chapter?

Scripture: Read Revelation 3:15–16

Ask: What does it mean to be “lukewarm” in the gospel?

Read: We can choose to be all in the gospel or just “lukewarm.” When we are all in spiritually we will find more hope and peace through trials. The Lord wants us to be fully committed to the gospel and receive the blessings that come from striving to become like Him.

Ask: How can you go from being spiritually “lukewarm” to being “all in” the gospel?

Testimony: Close with your testimony.
