- Advertisment - Save on Great LDS Gifts

As we conclude our study of the New Testament we learn of the Second Coming of the Lord. In this Come, Follow Me FHE lesson, you will learn more about the love and mercy of God. Our FHE lessons include three lesson plans for different ages, treat recipes, activity ideas, and more.

Revelation 21:7

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Children’s Songbook | 82–83.

1.I wonder, when he comes again,
Will herald angels sing?
Will earth be white with drifted snow,
Or will the world know spring?
I wonder if one star will shine
Far brighter than the rest;
Will daylight stay the whole night through?
Will songbirds leave their nests?
I’m sure he’ll call his little ones
Together ’round his knee,
Because he said in days gone by,
“Suffer them to come to me.”

2.I wonder, when he comes again,
Will I be ready there
To look upon his loving face
And join with him in prayer?
Each day I’ll try to do his will
And let my light so shine
That others seeing me may seek
For greater light divine.
Then, when that blessed day is here,
He’ll love me and he’ll say,
“You’ve served me well, my little child;
Come unto my arms to stay.”

Ask: Have you ever been to a wedding? Was it a joyous day? Why are people happy at weddings?

Scripture: Read Revelation 19:7

Read: In this verse the “marriage of the Lamb” is a representation of the Second Coming of the Savior. Just as we feel happiness at a wedding we will feel joy at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as well.

Ask: Why do you think you will be happy when the Savior returns to Earth?

Share: Tell the children why you are happy for the Second Coming of the Lord.

Ask: What can we do to be prepared for the Savior’s return?

Testimony: Close with your testimony of the Savior.

Ask: How would you feel if someone wanted to write a book about your life? Is there anything you would want to be excluded from the book?

Read:  In these verses, we learn that we will be judged according to our works in this life. This can motivate us to be more like Christ, but it may also seem overwhelming to be judged on everything we have done in this life.

Scripture:  Read Revelation 21:1–4

Read: These verses provide us with a deeper understanding of how much God loves and shows mercy towards us. By accepting the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can all be purified and granted forgiveness for our sins. We are never alone, for He promises to be with us constantly.

Share: Tell an experience when you felt the love and mercy of God.

Video: Watch this video about the grace of God.

Ask: What did this video teach you about God’s judgment?

Testimony: Close with your testimony.
