In today’s troubled world, many people wonder how they can remain safe in an active shooter situation. Members of the Church have especially asked this question since a man was murdered in an LDS meetinghouse Sunday by a gunman.
The Church does not provide official public training or information in their handbooks and manuals about emergencies involving active shooters. However, we found this in-depth training used to help Church employees. Though not everything will apply, most of the information is extremely useful and the principles are good for anyone to review. You can use the training in a group or read it through yourself. The training is meant to take approximately 20 minutes.
The bulk of the training focuses on “Run Fight Hide,” three choices someone can make in an active shooting situation.
