As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, finding joy in our Savior, Jesus Christ, is deeply important part of our faith. In 2 Nephi 2:25, we are taught to talk of Christ and rejoice in Christ.

Yet, in the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to lose sight of the simple ways we can cultivate that joy. This is especially true when times get hard. Fortunately, there are practical and easy ways we can rejoice more in Christ, even amidst life’s challenges. Here are some unique tips to help us infuse our lives with greater joy and gratitude.

Start and End Your Day with Gratitude

Begin each morning by expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the gift of a new day and for His many blessings. Take a moment before bedtime to reflect on the day’s experiences and express gratitude for the tender mercies and blessings received, no matter how small they may seem.

Create a Joy Journal

Keep a journal dedicated to recording moments of joy and gratitude. Write down experiences, insights, and blessings that bring a smile to your face or fill your heart. Reflecting on these moments can help uplift and inspire us during challenging times.

Serve Others with Love

One of the surest ways to find joy in Christ is by serving others selflessly. Look for opportunities to extend love and kindness to those around you, whether it’s through a simple act of service, a heartfelt note of encouragement, or a listening ear to someone in need.

Immerse Yourself in Scripture and Inspired Words

Take time each day to immerse yourself in the scriptures and other inspired words of our prophets and apostles. As you study and ponder the teachings of Christ, you’ll find greater peace, insight, and joy in His gospel truths.

Find Joy in Nature

Take time to marvel at the beauty of God’s creations in nature. Whether it’s a stunning sunrise, a majestic mountain range, or the delicate petals of a flower, find moments to connect with the Creator through His handiwork. Spending time in nature can uplift our spirits and remind us of God’s love and care for His children.

Practice Mindfulness and Presence

Cultivate a habit of being present in the moment and mindful of the blessings surrounding you. Slow down, breathe deeply, and savor the simple pleasures of life. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious meal, spending quality time with loved ones, or relishing a quiet moment of solitude, embrace each moment with gratitude and awareness.

Express Joy Through Music and Worship

Music has a unique power to uplift and inspire our souls. Take time to listen to uplifting hymns and spiritual music that testify of Christ’s love and grace. Sing praises to the Lord with a grateful heart, and let the melodies of faith and devotion fill your home and heart with joy.

By incorporating these simple yet meaningful practices into our lives, we can cultivate a deeper sense of joy and gratitude in our relationship with Jesus Christ. As we strive to rejoice more in Him, we will find our hearts filled with peace, our spirits lifted, and our lives enriched with His abundant blessings. Let us seek joy in Christ each day and spread His light and love to all those around us.
