For those tuning into the April 2024 General Conference, a theme quickly became clear—covenants and temples.

But how many times were these topics actually mentioned? We took a look into the recently released text of Conference and came up with some answers!

The word covenants was used 194 times! The speaker who used this word the most was President Dallin H. Oaks in “Covenants and Responsibilities.” He said the word 49 times in one talk.

He taught, “The Church of Jesus Christ is known as a church that emphasizes making covenants with God.”

The next place is tied between Sister J. Anette Dennis and Elder Matthew L. Carpenter. They both mentioned covenants 31 times.

Sister Dennis said, “Through honoring our covenants, we enable God to pour out the multitude of promised blessings associated with those covenants.”

Elder Carpenter focused on covenant sealings, teaching, “Having the Holy Ghost seal our ordinances is essential if we want to have the promised blessings for all eternity.”

What about the word temples? It was mentioned 179 times, with President Henry B. Eyring’s talk, “All Will Be Well Because of Temple Covenants,” coming in at the top with 29  mentions.

What did you learn about temples and covenants from these talks? Was there another theme that the Holy Ghost impressed upon your heart?
