Latter-day Saint Missionary Shares Challenges, Blessings in Growing Up Deaf

In a unique video, Elder Justin Weidauer, serving in Palo Alto, California, shares the challenges and blessing of growing up deaf. He felt less than those around him. But through the gospel, he gained a deep testimony that we are all equal in the sight of God.

“He really does love me and everyone else, no matter how they are,” Elder Weidauer says. “I love my Heavenly Father and I know for sure I am a child of God just like the rest of his children. That is one of my reasons to serve a mission. Because I want everyone to know that God really does love everyone.”

The video features Elder Weidauer sharing his story in American Sign Language. Make sure the video is on mute or change your settings to activate the subtitles.
