Jesus Christ Is My Savior

I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He lives. He loves me, heals me, guides me, and forgives me.

I couldn’t begin to be who I am without my Savior. I love that He calls upon me and trusts me to do His works. I love my Savior and my faith could never be stronger.

I love that we have temples to do the work for our families to be united. What a wonderful and sacred gift.

My Heavenly Father has saved me so many times from harm and death. I have seen His miracles in my life so many times and the abundance of blessings I couldn’t begin to count.

I feel His presence with me always. I know that prayers are heard and answered.

My calling in Primary was a gift to me. I pray that I can always serve my Heavenly Father and always be where He wants me to be.

I pray for love, world peace, and all of my brothers and sisters all over this beautiful earth.

Family History: Connecting Hearts Across the Globe

I’ve always enjoyed tracing my family tree as well as talking about them on YouTube.

Several years ago, I placed three videos on YouTube detailing my great-great-great-grandparents Thomas Girdlestone, his wife Mary Betts, and their daughter (my great-great-grandmother) Emma Girdlestone’s trek with the Willie Handcart Company from Nebraska to Utah.

I just enjoyed creating the videos and sharing them. The videos were viewed here and there and didn’t think much about it. I had nearly forgotten about them when I noticed a message on one of my videos.

It was from a man “down under” who was overseeing a group of youth going on their own Pioneer trek in Australia. He and his wife were portraying Emma’s parents, Mary Betts and Thomas Girdlestone.

They created a “Girdlestone” banner to be carried in the front of their handcart company. They were eager to learn more about the family.

I had narrated a lot about the family in my various videos that helped this group understand more about the Girdlestones. I was stunned that technology had connected me with these people from across the world, and can only see the Lord’s hand in it.

If it hadn’t been for the Internet, I never would have met this group nor would they have gotten to know a direct descendent of Thomas and Mary. To this day it gives me chills. It was so exciting!

I know that our Heavenly Father was instrumental in helping create the Internet and know that it will help connect families. It’s truly a miracle.

A Familiar Message

When I was 10, my parents divorced. By the time I turned 12, my mom remarried.

My stepdad was a “Jack Mormon,” meaning he did not live the gospel—but the Church tracks members, so the missionaries visited. They asked my mother if she wanted to learn about the gospel. She agreed, but she was anxious.

We then had the lessons from the elders. As I heard the lessons, I felt it was true. I felt like I had heard this before. I asked my mother and she said I never heard it before. But I knew it was true.

We were soon baptized. It was not long till I learned that my mother and biological father had had missionary lessons when I was an infant. So, I had heard the lessons years before.

I believe that the Holy Spirit was bringing to mind what I heard as an infant.

The Savior Knows Me

Jesus has become known to me through His kind promptings and evidences of His love for each of us.

I have learned that his support is in giving comfort rather than taking away life’s trials.

He is so knowledgeable about who I am that He treats me with respect and dignity. There is no pity in His caring. There is assurance and patience.

He knows who I am and wants me anyway. He can see me personally and love me for that.
