Demolition Begins in Bangkok
This week, demolition crews arrived at the Bangkok Thailand Temple site to begin work. The crews will remove an existing parking lot, landscaping, and Church office building in order to clear land space for the future temple. A formal groundbreaking ceremony will take place at a later, currently unannounced, date.
Volunteers Needed and Dedication Modification in Rome
An official volunteer website was launched this week, seeking volunteers to work the Rome Italy Temple Open House. Volunteers must provide their own transportation to the temple site, but a limited number of beds in the patron housing hostel will be made available.

Additionally, it was announced this week that the dedication of the Rome Italy Temple will now take place over a three day period, instead of the previously announced five days. The open house dates remain the same, and the temple will now be dedicated in sessions between Sunday 10 March 2019 and Tuesday 12 March 2019.
Interior Work in Durban
Crews at the Durban South Africa Temple are hard at work sanding and smoothing interior walls and ceilings. Decorative crown molding and tile are also being fit and attached. Around the temple grounds, a team has surveyed an area which will be fitted with a water feature, and lamp posts are awaiting installation.
Progress in Louisiana
The first pieces of stone cladding have been attached at the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple remodel site. The temple has been closed since January 2018 for extensive renovations and updates.
A New Photo from Brazil
Construction floodlights can be seen in this new photograph taken across the street from the Rio de Janiero Brazil Temple site. The photo shows the significant progress which has been made toward completing Brazil’s eighth temple.
Groundbreaking in Cote d’Ivoire
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Temple this week. This temple will be the sixth constructed on the continent of Africa.
