Seven years after beginning BYU Pathways, Julie Richmond is excited to receive her degree on July 19, 2023. At the age of 83 she is finally accomplishing her lifelong dream.
Although her timing of finishing her degree is unusual, Richmond had a life of learning. She was a mother and served in many callings in the church. She learned languages and experienced many cultures thanks to her missions and other opportunities.
Richmond always knew the importance of an education. She told The Church News that “We believe that we will take with us whatever knowledge we acquire on this earth. … I think it’s just as important to [get my education] now because I’ll need whatever I’ve learned later.”
When she first heard about the BYU–Pathway Worldwide program, she knew it was an answer to her prayers.
