Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have prayerfully counseled about how to help single members of the Church feel supported and engaged. As part of this effort, a new infographic for leaders and young single adults has been released. The infographic shares information from a study of young single adults about what they need and how leaders can help them.
Handbook changes were announced in March 2021 to broaden the callings single men in the church can hold. No new opportunities have been announced for single women.
President M. Russell Ballard recently said, “For many years, we have talked about ‘young single adults,’ ‘single adults’ and ‘adults.’ Those designations can be administratively helpful at times but can inadvertently change how we perceive others. Is there a way to avoid this human tendency that can separate us from one another? President Nelson asked that we refer to ourselves as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That seems to cover all of us, doesn’t it?”
