A Utah man was arrested Saturday, August 11, after breaking and entering a Provo church building to steal and eat chicken nuggets.
A witness saw a man identified as Daniel Coleman, 49, enter the church after spotting him “wandering through the neighborhoods in the area, looking into cars and backyards.”
Officers entered the church through a single unlocked door. The rest of the building was locked. They said it did not appear to be regular church hours and there was no one else inside of the building.
Officers eventually found Coleman in the building with all the lights off. He was seen rummaging through kitchen cabinets and putting a bag of chicken nuggets back into the refrigerator.
The police saw him then take four pieces of chicken from a microwave and begin eating them.
“Because Coleman unlawfully entered a church building without a legitimate reason to be there, and because he admitted to taking food that wasn’t his from the church building, he has been arrested and booked under the following charge: burglary,” arresting documents read.
