A missionary serving for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has passed away. The following statement is from Church spokesman Daniel Woodruff:
With sadness, we share news of the passing of a young sister missionary serving in the Texas Houston East Mission. Sister Katherine Pindar, age 19, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away overnight in her sleep following a brief illness. The exact cause of her death is undetermined. We are mindful of her family and loved ones and pray they will feel comfort and peace at this extremely difficult time.
Here are a few words of condolences left by friends of the family online.
So this rainy Thursday evening..been hit with two sad news..the passing of a sweet missionary sister who was a friend of my son Helaman’s. They were prom dates for their Senior year of High School. Saddened by her sudden passing while in the service of our Lord serving in Houston, Texas💔😥Rest in love Sister Katherine Pindar❤️ – Gladys Nautu-Apelu
I’m in absolute shock and disbelief right now. Katherine was from my home stake and I knew her from Girls Camp/others take activities years ago and her little brother and my little sister are really good friends (they went to prom together). My thoughts, love, and prayers are with the Pindar family right now. – Missy Young
