New Temples Announced

During the Sunday Morning Session of the 187th Annual General Conference, President Thomas S. Monson announced 5 new temples to be built: Brasilia, Brazil; greater Manila, Philippines; Nairobi, Kenya; Pocatello, Idaho; and Saratoga Springs, Utah.

Updates for Idaho Falls

Following extensive renovations, the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will open for a public open house.  Free tickets are currently available.

This week the angel Moroni statue was removed from the Idaho Falls temple for refurbishment. It will be covered in a new coating of gold leaf and returned in time for the open house.

Location Clarified for Greater Manila Philippines Temple

The official Mormon Newsroom Facebook page for the Philippines announced that Alabang, Muntinlupa City would be the location for the new temple announced by President Monson during General Conference.

Ancient Jerusalem App

BYU’s Visual Scriptures team released a free app this week that will allow users to view and learn about locations in Ancient Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount. A video introduction to the app is available here.
