Five Weeks Into Memphis Temple Renovation

Crews have made significant progress on dismantling the interior and exterior of the Memphis Tennessee Temple. Area missionaries have been serving at the site and were given the job of taking apart delicate items like the celestial room chandelier.

Cladding Coming Down in OKC

Progress continues on the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple renovation as crews remove pieces of marble cladding from the exterior walls. The temple is expected to reopen in 2019.

Exterior Walls Complete in South America

Crews are making steady progress on the Arequipa Peru Temple. The walls of the structure were completed this last week, and a large construction crane has been removed from the site.

Palm Trees Planted in Colombia

Stately palm trees have been arranged in two rows on the grounds of the Barranquilla Colombia Temple. Cladding is continuing to the temple’s tower and an ornamental cornice is being installed along the roof line.

 

Roof Decking Being Placed In Africa

Crews working on the Durban South Africa Temple have started placing decking atop the roof trusses. The design of the roof will allow the African rains to roll off the roof and will add a distinct aesthetic to the building.

Scaffolding Removed in Rome

The towers of the Rome Italy Temple are clearly visible for the first time since steel framing went up in 2013. Interior work is underway. A completion date of the temple has yet to be announced.

Progress Continues in Brazil

The site of the Fortaleza Brazil Temple is progressing quickly and smoothly. A vapor barrier and stone cladding are being attached to the temple walls. The adjacent meetinghouse is nearing completion as well. The temple is estimated to be completed by mid-2019, though no official date has been announced.

More Walls Completed in Portugal

Crews have poured more exterior walls on the Lisbon Portugal Temple. The temple is estimated to be complete in late 2019.
