North Carolina Temple Closes

Saturday 6 January 2018 was the last day of operation at the Raleigh North Carolina Temple before it closed for major interior and exterior renovations. The changes to the temple will include upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems, ADA compliance updates, minor floor plan changes, and raising the steeple by 10 feet. Following the renovations, there will be a public open house followed by a rededication.

Steeple Preparation in Brazil

With concrete exterior walls and rebar forms in place, the Rio de Janiero Brazil Temple is ready for its stately steeple. No official completion date has been announced but the temple is expected to be complete in early 2020.

Addition to Temple Grounds in Chile

Plastic-wrapped lamp posts dot the grounds of the Concepción Chile Temple as crews work toward the temple completion.  The lamp posts have been placed among newly planted and more established trees. Finish work is progressing quickly on the temple interior, and area Saints are looking forward to the future raising of the angel Moroni atop the domed steeple.

Progress in Rome

Scaffolding has been removed from the north and south sides of the Rome Italy Temple, allowing observers a view at colorful art glass filling window openings. Landscaping is continuing, including rows of Italian cypress trees flanking either side of the temple.
