Tower Walls Poured for the Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire Temple

Construction of the Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire Temple moves forward including the addition of the concrete tower walls that will support the heaven-pointing spire and help the sacred structure stand apart from the adjoining meetinghouse. Work has begun on the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, as crews are roughing in air ducts.

Temples Presidents Called for Pocatello and Praia

The First Presidency has extended calls to two more couples who will serve as the temple president and matron of temples that are under construction. Bruce H and Karen F. Winegar have been called to oversee the Pocatello Idaho Temple. And Roberto F. and Eliana A. Oliveira will leave Utah to serve in the Praia Cabo Verde Temple.

Feather River California Temple Groundbreaking

On July 18, 2020, Elder Scott D. Whiting of the North America West Area presidency will preside over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Feather River California Temple, located at 1470 Butte House Road in Yuba City. Attendance at the site will be by invitation only. Additional details will be announced through local leaders. The site for the 38,000-square-foot temple will be shared by a new meetinghouse and distribution center.

Winnipeg Manitoba Temple to Be Dedicated in November

People of all faiths are invited to tour the beautiful Winnipeg Manitoba Temple during a free open house starting Thursday, October 22, and continuing through Saturday, October 31, 2020, except for Sunday, October 25. Visitors will learn more about the purpose of the temple and have an opportunity to ask questions. Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple on Sunday, November 8, 2020, in three sessions, at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 3:00 p.m. A youth devotional will be held on the evening prior to the dedication.

Interior Renderings of the Tooele Valley Utah Temple Released

The interior design planned for the Tooele Valley Utah Temple has been revealed in a series of renderings showing a sealing room, the Celestial Room, an endowment room, the baptistry, and the recommend desk. “These beautiful renderings depict the care and attention to detail that will go into the construction of this house of the Lord,” said Brent Roberts, managing director of the Church’s Special Projects Department. “We believe this will be a place where Latter-day Saints in the Tooele Valley and beyond can go to obtain peace and divine direction in their lives.” Click the link here to see our full coverage on this announcement.
