Online System Announced for Temple Prayer Rolls
The First Presidency has announced the creation of an online system to allow Church members to submit requests for the names of family and friends to be placed on the temple prayer roll. The prayer roll is a collection of names of those in need prayer as they face challenges such as illness or other afflictions. Members who are participating in temple worship unite their faith in asking our Father in Heaven to bless them. Click the link here to read our full coverage on this announcement.
Preparing for the Praia Cabo Verde Temple Tower
The spaces between the structural columns of the Praia Cabo Verde Temple are being filled with sturdy concrete block while leaving openings for the windows. Framing for the pedestal of the steeple has been set, and forms are going up for the tower walls. Foundation work is well underway for the meetinghouse that will stand beside the temple.
Bangkok Thailand Temple Rising Above Ground
The Bangkok Thailand Temple is making its upward climb. The six-story structure is rising above ground level over a thick slab of steel and concrete. Several walls and columns have been poured amid a maze of scaffolds that provide working surfaces for the crew and their materials. Behind the temple, floor slabs continue to be poured for the multipurpose facility that will house meetinghouse spaces and a variety of Church offices.
Twenty More Temples to Enter Phase 2 of Reopening
An additional 20 temples will enter Phase 2 of reopening on Monday, August 31, 2020, for a total of 67 temples in that phase. The Columbus Ohio Temple had previously entered Phase 2, but it has since closed for renovation. On that same day, the Cebu City Philippines Temple will reopen under Phase 1. Only thirty temples have not yet reopened with eight of those temples currently undergoing a major renovation.
