Temple News & Updates | Week of 4 August 2019

Layton Utah Temple Site Announced

Initially announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April of 2018, the location for the Utah Layton Temple has officially been announced. This beautiful temple will be built on an 11.8-acre site on the corner of Oak Hills Drive and Rosewood Lane in Layton City. The plans indicate that this temple will be three-stories tall, and approximately 87,000 square feet.

The state of Utah currently has 17 temples in operation, and members within the Layton area are very excited to have this additional temple so close to home.

 

Manhattan New York Temple Currently Closed For Repairs

The Manhattan New York Temple closed this past weekend for the next 3 months as maintenance goes underway for mechanical repairs. The project is set to be completed in late October, just before the new temple presidency begins their service on November 1st.

 

Port-Au-Prince Haiti Temple Construction Has Completed

Located within the capital of the Caribbean, the Port-Au-Prince Haiti Temple has finished construction, and plans for the open have been set. They will begin on the 8th of August 2019 through the 17th of August. In January of 2010, a large earthquake devastated the nation of Haiti. As the nation has recovered, this newly constructed temple is a powerful symbol of the faith and devotion of the members within the nation.

 

Open House Tickets Now Available For the Lisbon Portugal Temple

The Lisbon Portugal Temple has announced its open house dates and tickets are now available. The open house will begin on Saturday, August 17th of 2019 through Saturday, August 31st of 2019.
