Here’s your daily dose of what matters most!

As we learn the names and stories of those who came before us, family history work helps us see our lives as part of something larger than our own moment. When we take even one small step to remember, record, or serve our ancestors, we invite healing into our hearts and help connect our family across generations.

Scripture

“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”Malachi 4:6

Quote

“When we gather our family histories and go to the temple on behalf of our ancestors, God fulfills promised blessings simultaneously on both sides of the veil.”—Dale G. Renlund, “Family History and Temple Work: Sealing and Healing”

Living the Principle: Find Purpose Through Family History Work

  • Choose one ancestor to learn about this week, even if all you do is read a short life sketch, look at a photo, or ask a family member what they remember.
  • Record one personal or family story, memory, name, or detail that could bless someone else later, especially something that would be easy to forget if no one wrote it down.
  • Set aside time to do one simple act of family history service, such as adding information to a family tree, indexing records, preparing a temple name, or sharing a meaningful family story with someone you love.
