On September 22, Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Mendoza Argentina Temple, marking a significant milestone for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina and around the world. This sacred event was a moment of profound spiritual significance, as Elder Rasband emphasized the temple’s role in bringing the Lord’s hallowed presence and transcendent peace to the Saints in the region.

Elder Rasband, accompanied by his wife, Sister Melanie Rasband, and other Church leaders, highlighted the temple’s importance in fulfilling sacred ordinances and making covenants that bind us to the Savior.

He reminded the Saints that the temple is a place where we can receive revelation, gain a greater understanding of the Lord’s plan of exaltation, and feel unified with our fellow Saints.

Nelson has taught that making and keeping sacred covenants increases the Savior’s power in our lives. Elder Rasband echoed this sentiment, urging members to be bold in their testimonies and to live their covenants with precision.
It was also acknowledged that there are still many members of the Church who do not have easy access to a temple. Member of the Seventy and President of the South America South Area Elder Joaquin E. Costa suggested, “If you don’t have a temple nearby, a beautiful exercise is to find a quiet place and remember the covenants you made in the temple. You will have a heavenly experience.”

Nelson announced the Mendoza Argentina Temple in October of 2018. Other temples in Argentina include the Salta, Cordoba, and Buenos Aires temples. Together, these houses of the Lord will serve approximately 475,000 Latter-day Saints in Argentina.
