The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hosted a Handover of Donations event at the end of February 2024. The event took place in the City of Mandaluyong, in the Philippines. Elder Neil L. Andersen presided and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen, was also present.

It was at this event that the PHP 700,000.00 collected from the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines in the area were presented to several non-profit organizations. In addition, the Church donated an additional PHP 500,000 to each of the following organizations: Caritas Manila, Caritas Cebu, Feed The Children, Inc., HERO Foundation, Inc., Mabuhay Deseret Foundation and UNICEF Philippines.

Elder Andersen told those at the event that, “When you love God, you cannot stop by loving Him. You have to love His creatures, His sons and daughters who live among us. You cannot love God without loving your brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of God.”

He also highlighted an important principle for us all: “It’s not how much we give, it’s that you give, and give what you can.”

You can hear more of the event in the video below.
