1875: President Brigham Young deeds land to and establishes the Brigham Young Academy, which later becomes Brigham Young University.
1960: The Philadelphia Stake, the first stake in Pennsylvania, is organized, with Bryant F. West as president. 1966: Elder Gordon B. Hinckley dedicates the Taipei Chapel, the first meetinghouse in Taiwan.
1999: Under the direction of Mack Wilberg, the Temple Square Chorale performs its first concert.
