Set for a nationwide release in over 650 North American movie theatres on Friday, Dec. 8, THE OATH takes place in Ancient America, where a lone Hebraic fugitive, Moroni, must preserve the history of his fallen nation while being hunted by a ruthless tyrant. But rescuing the King’s abused mistress could awaken Moroni’s warrior past.

Scored by two-time Emmy Award-winning composer, Trevor Morris (VIKINGS, IMMORTALS), THE OATH is an uplifting tale of faith, honor, virtue, and life after death underscored by the universal message of freedom.

Written and directed by Darin Scott and co-written by Michelle Scott, THE OATH was produced by Isen Robbins, Aimee Schoof, Randolf Turrow, and Darin Scott. THE OATH stars Darin Scott (YELLOWSTONE, 127 HOURS), Nora Dale (YELLOWSTONE, SEVERANCE), Karina Lombard (LEGENDS OF THE FALL, THE FIRM), Eugene Brave Rock (WONDER WOMAN), and Billy Zane (TITANIC, THE PHANTOM). The additional featured cast includes Philip Niu (BLACK ADAM), Aron Stevens (WWE), and Wase Chief (HORIZON).

“Anyone who works on a film for 13 years is either crazy or inspired,” says filmmaker Darin Scott. “Viewers will instantly recognize that THE OATH is not just a movie, it’s a passionate story with the power to change people. It breaks down emotional barriers, disarming audiences because it doesn’t feel like an indie—it feels like a refined studio epic. We’re thrilled to partner with Freestyle Releasing for our December 8th release. THE OATH is perfectly suited for the holiday season—a feel-good movie people will want to see again and again.”
