James’ childhood was split between living at the Scientology Celebrity Center with his mother and living with his agnostic Father. He learned about God from a young age by watching Sunday morning TV preachers, and would even pray for his family.
In his teenage years, James turned to substances as a way to cope with the difficult parts of life. After the passing of a celebrity he looked up to, James was prompted to begin a spiritual journey and change his life.
His co-worker, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon. Reading Alma 40 and learning about the Plan of Salvation brought James the peace and transformation he had been seeking.
