Scripture
Moses 6:34
Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.
Hymn
Go Forth With Faith, Hymn #263
1. Go forth with faith to tell the world
Of Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Bear witness he is God’s own Son;
Proclaim his wondrous word.
Go forth with hope and courage strong
To spread the word abroad
That people of all nations
Are children of our God.
2. Go forth with love to tell the world
The joy of families–
That we may be with those we love
Thru all eternity.
Go forth to serve and do your best
With no thought of reward;
Then you shall know the boundless joy
Of serving Christ, the Lord.
3. Go forth with pow’r to tell the world
The gospel is restored,
That all may gain eternal life
Thru Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Go forth to preach his glorious truths
Of peace, of joy, and love,
That all who heed his holy word
May praise the Lord above.
Lesson
*Suitable for All Ages*
Start by reading the story of Enoch as found in Moses 6:26-31.
Ask: How did Enoch feel about being asked to share the gospel?
Read aloud: Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ takes courage! It is a very important message and sometimes people treat us badly when we try to share it. Enoch was scared to share the gospel. He didn’t think he was very powerful, smart, or liked. However, the Lord told Enoch not to be scared.
And the Lord said unto Enoch: Go forth and do as I have commanded thee, and no man shall pierce thee. Open thy mouth, and it shall be filled, and I will give thee utterance, for all flesh is in my hands, and I will do as seemeth me good.
Say unto this people: Choose ye this day, to serve the Lord God who made you.
Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.
Ask: Why do we need to have courage when we share the gospel?
Read aloud: When we have courage, we are able to help others see how important Jesus Christ is to us. We are able to do things we never thought we would be able to do to help and serve the people we meet each day. We are all imperfect. We have weaknesses. However, the Lord has promised to help us if we try our very best.
Ask: How can we build courage in sharing the gospel?
Share any missionary moment you have had where it seemed scary or you were nervous. Invite others to do the same. Finish with your testimony.
