Elder Stevenson Dedicates the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple
Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple Sunday morning, May 8, 2022. The Rio De Janeiro Brazil Temple is the 8th temple in Brazil and 171st temple operating worldwide. After the dedicatory session, Elder Stevenson said, “Temples connect heavenly families, and temples connect earthly families.”
Praia Cape Verde Temple Open House
A public open house for the Praia Cape Verde Temple begins this Saturday, May 21, and continues through Saturday, June 11, 2022. A youth devotional will be held on Saturday, June 18 and the temple will be dedicated on Sunday, June 19, 2022, by Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Date Set for the Ephraim Utah Temple Groundbreaking
A groundbreaking date has been set for the Ephraim Utah Temple. Elder Walter F. Gonzalez of the Quorum of the Seventy will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, August 27, 2022. The 39,000-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 9.16-acre site at the corner of 200 North and 400 East in Ephraim.
Burley Idaho Temple Site Cleared Ahead of Groundbreaking
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Burley Idaho Temple will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2022. The 10-acre site has been cleared in preparation for the event. The temple will be the seventh in Idaho.
Construction to Begin on the Lubumbashi Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple
The official exterior rendering, location, and groundbreaking date for the Lubumbashi Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple have been released. The temple will be built on Av. Kashobwe across the street from an international Belgian school, known as École Privée Belge de Lubumbashi, and near a man-made lake called Lac Kipopo. It will be the second temple in the country, Elder Matthew L. Carpenter, president of the Africa Central Area, will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
Montpelier Idaho Temple Location Announced
The location for the building site of the Montpelier Idaho temple has been officially released. The two-story building of approximately 27,000 square feet will stand on a 2.6-acre site at the intersection of Washington Street and North Sixth Street in Montpelier. The proposed temple district will serve approximately 15,000 Latter-day Saints.
Virtual Tour of the Washington D.C. Temple
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a virtual tour video of the Washington D.C. Temple. Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, and his wife, Lesa, and Elder Dale G. Renlund, also of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, and his wife, Ruth, lead the tour. The rededication of the temple will take place on August 14, 2022.
