1844: Following the death of Joseph Smith, the Prophet’s uncle, John Smith, is sustained as the Nauvoo Stake president, replacing William Marks, who refused to accept the leadership of the Twelve Apostles.
1928: Louise Yates Robison is called as the seventh general president of the Relief Society.
1989: President Gordon B. Hinckley dedicates four restoration projects in Nauvoo as part of the sesquicentennial celebration of the settling of the city in 1839.
