Advancements in Barranquilla

Stone cladding has been completed on the north and east walls of the Barranquilla Colombia Temple. Bricklaying continues on the adjacent housing facility.


Rising Foundation Walls in Portugal

Crews are making progress on the foundation walls of the Lisbon Portugal Temple. The exterior walls of the neighboring meetinghouse are being prepared for insulation and cladding.

Soffit Walls Poured in South Africa

The rising Durban South Africa Temple has newly poured soffit walls. Bricklayers have moved from the entrance buildings to the missionary housing facility, where lightning protection and basement concrete was recently added. Work is continuing on a storm water system.

Dignitaries Visit Tucson Arizona Temple

Prior to the public open house for the Tucson Arizona Temple, numerous special guests were invited to tour the sacred structure. Among the attendees were Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey; former presidential candidate and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney; U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake and wife Cheryl; Mexican Consul Ricardo Pineda; Guatemalan Consul Carlos de León; and Dr. Robert Robbins, University of Arizona president.

Local religious leaders from other faiths were also given a tour led by Bishop Jedd Curtis of the Central Ward. Those leaders included Rev. Edwin Donaldson of Prince Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church; Imam Watheq Al-Obaidi, professor of Islamic Studies; Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon of Temple Emanu-El; and Pastor David Moore of Arizona Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Art Glass Installed in Cedar City

Large panes of blue-toned art glass have been installed in the window opening above the main entrance of the Cedar City Utah Temple. The decorative glass sits beneath the Holiness to the Lord – The House of the Lord stone. The public open house for the temple will begin in late October 2017.
