Font Preparations in DRC
At the Kinshasa DRC Temple site crews are preparing to pour the concrete support for the baptismal font. They are also preparing to attach plywood to the roof trusses.
Upcoming Groundbreaking in Haiti
Land for the Port-au-Prince Haiti temple is being prepared for a groundbreaking ceremony, to take place on Saturday 28 October 2017. Elder Walter F. González of the Seventy and president of the Caribbean Area will preside.
Brickwork Continues in South Africa
Loads of brick continue to arrive at the Durban South Africa Temple site. Crews will begin bricklaying in the temple basement and in the missionary housing facility. Work continues on plumbing, electrical, and sewer systems.
Sod Being Laid at Cedar City Temple
Landscaping progresses at the Cedar City Utah Temple, including the laying of sod around the immediate area of the building. Numerous trees have also been planted as crews work to complete the structure for the public open house. The open house will begin Saturday 27 October 2017 and run through the middle of November. Following the 10 December 2017 dedication, Cedar City will be the 17th operating temple in Utah.
Arequipa Peru Temple Progress
Rising columns of rebar and concrete forms at the Arequipa Peru Temple give evidence to above ground progress of the growing structure. Crews are simultaneously working on an adjoining housing facility.
Rededication Announced for the Jordan River Utah Temple
The First Presidency of the Church has announced that a public open house for the renovated Jordan River Utah Temple will be held between Saturday 17 March 2018 to Saturday 28 April 2018. The temple will be rededicated on Sunday 20 May 2018, in three sessions.
